Are These 3 Esports Crowds on Your Autumn Radar?

Three of the biggest events in competitive esports land within the same ten days in late September. League of Legends closes its European season in Nice. VALORANT opens its world championship in Shanghai, while Fortnite crowns world champions in Antwerp.

Hardly anyone watches these tournaments on a single official broadcast anymore. Fans pick a streamer they already follow, and that streamer shows the matches with their own commentary, in their own language, to their own community. The industry calls this co-streaming. For an affiliate, it means the audience arrives through hundreds of separate doors.

The good news? All three finals are yet to be played. Here’s a breakdown of what the last editions drew.

The autumn window

Event  2026 dates & venue  Recent audience benchmark  Channel / creator signal  Primary affiliate window
LEC Summer Finals  Sep. 18–20, Palais Nikaia, Nice   LEC Versus 2026: 734,933 peak; 33.81M hours watched   Exact unique-channel count is not public; in LEC Spring 2026, nearly 70% of hours watched came through co-streams   Rivalries, Worlds qualification, fandom, result-led search
VALORANT Champions Shanghai  Sep. 24–Oct. 18; opens at Jing’an Sports Center, with Finals Weekend at Mercedes-Benz Arena   Champions 2025: 1.47M peak; 47.58M hours watched   Exact unique-channel count is not public; 58.4% of 2025 watch time came from co-streamers   Creator-led discovery, regional matchups, schedules, brackets and upsets
Fortnite Global Championship  Sep. 26–27, Lotto Arena, Antwerp   2025: about 0.95M peak; 7.56M hours watched   770 unique channels covered the 2025 championship   Creator traffic, short-form/social discovery, standings and final-day urgency

Three big nights in France

The League of Legends season in Europe ends on September 18, 19 and 20 at Palais Nikaia in Nice, with one deciding match each day. Sunday’s winner takes the European title. The weekend also hands out Europe’s last remaining place at the World Championship in October, so Friday and Saturday carry their own stakes.

Almost 70% of European viewers this spring arrived through creators rather than the official channel, and a final earlier this year came close to 735,000 people watching at the same time.

For affiliates. Three deciding matches means three separate traffic days rather than one Sunday spike. The searches write themselves the moment each match ends: final score, updated bracket, who qualified, next opponent, start time.

Shanghai runs for a month

VALORANT’s world championship opens on September 24 and does not finish until October 18. Last year’s edition pulled 47.58 million hours of viewing, and 58.4% of that came through creators.

For affiliates. Attention spreads across personalities, languages and communities. The dependable spikes sit on decision points: opening-day schedules, how-to-watch guides, knockout matches, early exits nobody expected.

Two days in Antwerp, 770 channels

Fortnite compresses everything. On September 26 and 27 at the Lotto Arena, the world’s top 50 duos play 12 games for a two-million-dollar prize pool. Last year’s championship reached roughly 0.95 million viewers at peak, spread across 770 separate channels, up from fewer than 200 twelve months earlier.

For affiliates. Those 770 channels are 770 entry points around one result, and the whole story lands within 48 hours. Day-one standings, qualified duos, final schedule, winners, and prize money, in that order, with no month-long gaps to fill.

One wrinkle worth circling. Fortnite’s entire championship sits on top of VALORANT’s opening weekend, so two large gaming crowds compete for the same screens and feeds on September 26 and 27.

Put the radar on early

A qualification race in Nice. A month of creator-led discovery in Shanghai. Heavy fragmentation across two days in Antwerp, with 4 moves that cover all of it:

  • Publish the utility pages first. Dates, start times, and how to watch.
  • Have the results, bracket and what-happens-next templates built before the first match.
  • Track creators and languages on the day, then follow the audiences that actually move.
  • Circle September 26 and 27, and have something ready

The Joker Partners portfolio spans enough brands to give each of them somewhere to land: ten days, three crowds, and no reason to pick just one.
